Browse the Library by level
Books are sorted into nine levels, from Growing Readers (US Grades 2–3) through the High School Track up to Elite Prep (Grades 11–12). Pick the level that fits your reader — each shows its US grade, and a genre filter narrows the shelf — then choose a novel.

Get the matching edition
Each workbook is built on one specific edition of the novel. Check the Publishers & ISBN guide so the chapters, page numbers, and words your reader sees line up exactly with the workbook.

Choose a Part
Every novel study is split into 8 parts, each covering a couple of chapters. The suggested time runs from 30 to 60 minutes depending on the course you choose, and the progress strip above the parts marks the ones you have finished, so you can pick up wherever you left off.

5
Choose your course: Explorer, Scholar, Honors or Educator
Every part opens with a choice of four courses. Explorer (about 30 minutes) is the gentlest way in: the easiest questions in Vocabulary, Reading Intelligence and Literary Elements plus one Think Deeper sort — 20 questions, 5 points each. Scholar (40 minutes) is the core level: more of every section, including two Think Deeper tasks — 25 questions. Honors (50 minutes) keeps only the hardest questions and adds all five Think Deeper tasks and the Academic Reading Challenge (SAT® · TOEFL®-style) — 30 questions. Educator (60 minutes) shows every question in every section, all 45, exactly what the Word and PDF editions print. All four are scored out of 100, and a badge at the top of the page shows which course you are in and the time so far. The suggested time is only a guide — nothing closes — and switching courses restarts that part.

Read the “What Happens” recap
Each part opens with a What Happens box in the Overview: a one-line summary, then the chapters in a few short beats, with key names and terms in bold, so readers are grounded before they answer — and can work even if the book isn’t in hand this minute. The Big Question above it runs through the whole part.

Study the vocabulary & background
Ten key words per part, plus a Knowledge Bank passage that builds the cultural, historical and scientific background behind the story. Each passage carries a How We Know note and a Visual Aid — a photograph, chart or diagram with a sourced caption you can read in three languages. This is the CLIL approach that sets Garden Heights apart for English learners.

Answer questions — graded instantly
Vocabulary, Reading Intelligence, Literary Elements and Think Deeper each open with a Knowledge Bank question — one that can only be answered from the passage you just read. Tap an answer to select it and again to confirm; every question is graded the moment you confirm, with a short explanation, so mistakes turn into learning on the spot. Explorer readers see only the easiest questions in each section, Honors readers only the hardest.

Practice the SAT® & TOEFL®-style test
On Honors and Educator, each part ends with Section 5, the Academic Reading Challenge: an original passage written by Garden Heights around that part’s vocabulary (never a quotation from the novel), with words-in-context and central-idea questions in the exact style of the SAT® and TOEFL®. A “What this section practices” panel names the SAT® and TOEFL® skills involved. Explorer and Scholar readers finish at Think Deeper instead.

Phase 3 · Finish & track progress
10
See your results the moment you finish
Finish a part and the score appears straight away, auto-graded out of 100 — across four sections on Explorer and Scholar, or five on Honors and Educator when the Academic Reading Challenge is included — with a section breakdown, so you can see exactly where you were strong and where to look again. The time you took is shown beside the suggested time as a record, not a test, and a Talk About It prompt returns to the Big Question. Move on to the next part when you are ready; all eight complete the book.

Watch your Report Card grow
Every score saves to a Report Card that tracks each book, records which course each part was taken in and how long it took, keeps a reading streak, builds a Skill Profile across the five sections, and shows where to pick up next. Teachers and parents can even export each book to CSV.

Tip for students: read each part in your own copy of the novel first, then open the workbook. Keep the book beside you, or close it and take the section as a test — you can retake it as many times as you want, and every answer is graded instantly.
